SRTE Static Pulleys (friction pulleys) were designed to be used as a BELAY DEVICE ONLY Although not a true pulley, Static Pulleys increase friction between the operator and the worker giving the operator more control. SRTE Static Pulleys are available in a SPORT (Manual Lock Only) or INDUSTRIAL (Auto Lock or Manual Lock) models. On Sport models the rope is wrapped 180° around the sheave. On Industrial models the rope is wrapped 3 times (360°) around the sheave. On Auto Lock models the unit is activated by excessive speed suspending the load. On Manual Lock models you must maintain control of the tail end of the rope at all times. Both models have swivel cheeks that extend beyond the surface of the rope for abrasion protection. For maximum protection all SRTE Static Pulleys have had Loctite applied to deter untrained personnel from tampering with them.
